More than 220 people have been killed after the Boko Haram attack on Damaturu, the Yobe state capital, on Dec. 1; one report claims the toll included more than 150 militants, six soldiers, and 33 policemen. A teenage female suicide bomber was caught by civilian defense personnel at a roadblock before she could detonate explosives at the Maiduguri market in the capital of Borno state. The market has been hit twice by suicide bombers in the past week, killing at least 86 people.
