The Islamic State of Iraq and the Sham captured the al Walid crossing in Iraq, opposite al Tanf in Homs. ISIS clashed with the Islamic Front and rebels in the Aleppo countryside and took over the towns of Ekthar and Ma'lan near the Turkish border; ISIS fighters were seen using American Humvees seized in Iraq. ISIS bombarded Al Enne and Al Tariq and clashed with the jihadi Shura council in Deir Izzour; regime forces bombarded parts of the ISIS-held Mouhasan city in Deir Izzour. ISIS fighters attacked near Kari Bari village and kidnapped at least 20 university students in Hasakah. The Al Nusrah Front and the Islamic Front battled regime forces in Hama and Reef Dimashq. Al Nusrah executed the commander of the Kahil Martyrs battalion, his brother, and another fighter after clashes in Deraa over a fighter's alleged "blasphemy." The Islamic Front also clashed with regime forces in Soran in Hama, in Idlib, Quneitra, and Deraa. An Israeli Arab youth was killed by an explosion south of Quneitra on the Golan Heights.
