A senior figure in the Syrian National Coalition denied rumors of a shakeup and creation of a new opposition group. The Al Nusrah Front and the Islamic Front battled regime forces in Hama; Reef Dimashq; and Aleppo, where they were joined by the Jaysh Muhajireen wal Ansar. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Sham has reportedly kidnapped 2,000 people in recent weeks from Aleppo, Hasakah, Raqqah, and Deir Izzor. Al Nusrah and the Islamic Front continued to clash in Deir Izzour with the ISIS, and recaptured the Al Kharrata oil station. The ISIS cut off water and electricity to Deir Izzour city in an attempt to besiege it. Regime forces targeted an ISIS headquarters in Raqqah. Al Nusrah and the Islamic Front also clashed with regime forces in Deraa, where "unknown gunmen" targeted an electrical tower in the north, cutting off electricity to much of the province.
