Two kidnapped Turkish pilots were turned over to Lebanese authorities for return home, in a three-way prisoner exchange negotiated by Turkey, Qatar, and the Assad regime, which released "dozens" of female Syrian prisoners as part of the deal. Nine Lebanese pilgrims kidnapped by Syrian rebels in May 2012 were also released. Gunmen seriously wounded Hussein Yaakoub, a wanted Palestinian who is a member of Fatah al-Islam, in an attack at the Ain Al-Hilweh refugee camp in Sidon.
