Authorities arrested wanted Lashkar-e-Taiba operative Abdul Karim Tunda near the Banwasa-Mehendarnagar border with Nepal yesterday. Tunda, a master bombmaker, has been implicated in over 40 terrorist bombings in India. He was arrested carrying a Pakistani passport in the name of Abdul Quddus; some reports say he came from a Gulf country, or from Karachi via Dubai, in the days prior to his arrest. Hostilities between Pakistan and India in the disputed northern territory of Kashmir have escalated recently.
