At least 48 members of the Muslim Brotherhood have been banned from traveling out of Egypt. Security sources warned that jihadists are poised to take over parts of the Sinai if President Morsi is overthrown. The army stepped up patrols near the Suez Canal. Canada closed its embassy in Cairo amid ongoing protests in the country. A Muslim Brotherhood official called on the president's supporters to "sacrifice your soul to defend Mohamed Morsy's legitimacy." Israel said recent troop movements in the Sinai by the Egyptian army were coordinated with it.
