Some 30 Hezbollah fighters were killed in clashes yesterday with rebels in Qusair, less than 10 miles from the Lebanese border, increasing fears the conflict will spill over outside Syria. Opposition sources said the clashes in Qusair yesterday killed 100 people. State media claimed that the town center had been regained by the Syrian military and that "large numbers of terrorists, most of them non-Syrians" were killed in the fighting. Rebel commanders have blamed recent losses on a diminishing flow of weapons from the outside; Qatar and other countries have reportedly recently slowed deliveries.
