Russia said it is working closely with Syria to make sure the country's chemical weapons remain secure, and said Syria has promised not to move or use them. Russia said it will "restrain [Syria] in all ways possible" from using the weapons, but also warned the US to exert its influence to prevent the weapons from falling into the hands of terrorist elements known to be in the Syrian opposition, "particularly al Qaeda."
