Three European aid workers kidnapped last fall in Algeria and held by the al Qaeda-linked Movement for Oneness and Jihad in Mali were released after a ransom of $18 million was paid and two Islamist terrorists were freed. One of those freed is said to be Memine Ould Oufkir, who had been arrested following the kidnapping.
