A US military investigation recommended that as many as seven US military personnel involved in the burning of Korans at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan face possible administrative, but not criminal, charges. An earlier joint US-Afghan investigation found that the texts had been mistakenly put in burn bags after they were confiscated from prisoners suspected of using them to convey extremist messages.
