A man holding a knife hijacked a plane carrying more than 100 people. The plane left from Sudan's troubled Darfur region and was diverted to Libya. Libyan aviation officials confirmed that the plane landed in Kufra, in a southern desert area close to the Sudanese border. Two senior commanders from different Darfur rebel factions, which have been fighting against the Khartoum regime for five years, said they had no immediate information on the hijacking.
