At least five people were injured in Baidoa after insurgents threw a hand grenade into the Alami Hotel that houses members of Somalia's legislative body. One civilian was killed in the crossfire as Somali troops battled Islamic insurgents in downtown Mogadishu. Spanish authorities paid pirates a ransom of $1.2 million to win the freedom of a Spanish fishing boat and its 26-member crew seized off the Horn of Africa a week ago, a Somali official said.
