Coalition forces killed three al Qaeda operatives and captured nine during raids in central and northern Iraq; another three were killed and a jail was discovered in Samarra. The Iraqi Army captured seven al Qaeda fighters, including a cell leader, in Baghdad and captured two during a raid in Baqubah. Iraqi security forces captured 13 insurgents near Kirkuk, while a suicide bomber wounded 12 in an attack on a Kurdistan Democratic Party headquarters in the northern city.
