A Yemeni court sentenced senior al Qaeda leader Anwar al Awlaki in absentia to 10 years in prison for his involvement in the murder of a French engineer. Othman al Awlaki, a cousin of Anwar, was also sentenced in absentia to eight years prison, while Hisham Mohammed Assem, the killer, was sentenced to death.
