Security forces killed 28 protesters and opposition supporters after opening fire in the capital of Sana’a. The military deployed snipers to kill some of the civilians.

Government troops killed 20 protesters in Sana’a. The capital is under blackout after power lines were cut. The opposition denied Sheikh Zindani is a terrorist.

Government forces killed six protesters in the capital of Sana’a. Saudi officials said that President Saleh, who has been recovering from injuries sufferred in an attack three months ago, may not return to Yemen.

Four people were killed as government forces shelled areas of Sana’a under the control of Sheikh Ahmar, who opposes President Saleh. A young man was killed during three bombings in Aden.

Seven civilians were killed in Yemeni air strikes outside of Sana’a. Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula said the military is killing civilians in airstrikes in the south, and vowed to avenge the bombings.

“Gunmen” killed an intelligence officer in Aden. President Saleh has authorized Vice President Hadi to negotiate the transition of power.

The Yemeni government claimed it has retaken control of Zinjibar, the capital of Abyan province, and ejected al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula from other towns in the area. The military has also broken the three-month-long siege of the 25th Mechanized Brigade just outside of Zinjibar.

Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula took control of Rodwa in Shabwa province, and is advancing on the port of Balhaf, home to a Liquefied Natural Gas facility. AQAP killed six soldiers in Zinjibar. US Predators reportedly killed three AQAP fighters in the village of Mihfed.

Six Yemeni soldiers and 13 al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula fighters were killed during clashes in the city of Zinjibar. Thirty-one people are reported to have been killed in yesterday’s airstrike on a mosque in Ja’ar.

An airstrike on a mosque in Ja’ar killed seven civilians; aircraft were targeting a group of al Qaeda fighters who overran a smaller mosque nearby. Tribal forces captured a 19-year-old suicide bomber in Lawdar in Abyan province.
