An al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula suicide bomber killed three pro-government tribesmen in Zinjibar. A spokesman for the Houthis accused the US of killing hundreds of Yemenis in drone strikes.

The military transferred Tareq al Fadhli, the al Qaeda-linked tribal leader in Abyan, to Aden and placed him under house arrest. The Houthis reportedly are attempting to take control of the port city of Midi.

Two aides to Tareq al Fadhli, a tribal leader in Abyan, were killed after pro-government militiamen attacked his home. Al Fadhli has been linked to al Qaeda and fought in Afghanistan.

US drones killed a local al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula commander and two fighters in an airstrike near the capital of Sana’a. Adnan al Qadhi, the al Qaeda commander who was killed, was involved in the attack on the US Embassy in Sana’a in 2008.

An intelligence official was assassinated in Sana’a; at least 55 intelligence operatives have been killed in Yemen so far this year. Tarek al Fadli, an al Qaeda-linked tribal leader in Abyan province, has been ordered to surrender to the government.

Unidentified gunmen killed 10 Shia Houthis worshippers in two separate attacks in Al Jawf province. A liquid natural gas pipeline to the Balhaf terminal that was bombed last week will take another week to be repaired.

The Houthis in northern Yemen threatened to retaliate against the US if it conducts more drone strikes in the north. Yemen Liquid Natural Gas is setting up watchtowers in an effort to curb bombings of the gas lines to the Balhaf terminal.

A pipeline transporting liquefied natural gas to the Balhaf terminal was bombed. Yemen’s former ambassador to Syria said that country was used as a conduit for Iran to foment unrest in Yemen.

Abdul Malik al Houthi, the leader of the separatist Houthis in northern Yemen, denounced the Oct. 28 airstrike by US drones in Saada that killed four al Qaeda fighters. He also accused the Yemeni government of providing cover for the US strikes.

US drones killed four al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula operatives in an airstrike in Saada in the north. Two Saudi financiers are said to have been killed in the strike.

“Gunmen” assassinated a counterintelligence official in Dhamar. The mayor of Sana’a escaped an assassination attempt. Security forces detained two al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula operatives.

Security officials said they uncovered an al Qaeda plot to retake Jaar and other areas of Abyan province. Intelligence officials detained six men who were transferred from Iraqi prosons.

Said al Shihri, al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula’s deputy emir, denied reports that he was killed in a drone strike last month. Three Yemeni soldiers were killed in an explosion at a base in Aden.

US drones killed four al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula fighters in a strike on a car traveling in Marib province. An AQAP operative known as Sanad Oraidan al Okailim was among those killed.

US drones killed Sheikh Abu Zubeir ‘Adil al’Abab, al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula’s senior sharia official, in a strike on Oct. 4. Security forces seized a parcel in Sana’a that contained explosives and bomb-making material.

Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula launched a complex suicide assault on an Army brigade headquarters in Shaqra. Fourteen soldiers, including three colonels, and 12 AQAP fighters were killed during the attack.

US drones killed an al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula leader and eight fighters in a strike in Jaar in Abyan province. The leader of an anti-AQAP Popular Resistance Committees died in a car accident.
