Two men, a Turk and a Palestinian, hijacked an airplane in Turkey and demanded to fly to Syria or Iran. One of the men claimed to be a member of al Qaeda. The hijacking ended after the plane landed in Turkey, and the pilots and the majority of the passengers escape via the safety exits.

Twelve Turkish soldiers were wounded in a roadside bomb attack conducted by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). The attack occurred near the Iraqi border, and Turkish troops have launched an operation in an attempt to capture the bombers.

Turkey announced the creation of “Security Zones” in the Turkish provinces ofSirnak, Siirt and Hakkari. Three soilders were killed and 6 wounded in a PKK IED attack in one of the zones.

Yesterday’s attack on a shopping mall in Ankara is believed to be carried out by a PKK suicide bomber, said Ankara’s governor. A female suicide bomber was detained by security forces in Adana.

A bomb blast at a crowded mall in Ankara killed 6 and wounded 80. There are no indications of who carried out the attack, but security forces are said to have detained 7 suspects.
