Turkey weighing land operation vs PKK in Iraq: TV
Turkish warplanes attacked more than 70 Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) targets in northern Iraq. At least seven Turkish attack planes struck camps in the Avasin-Basyan and Hakurk regions just over the Turkish border.
Four al Qaeda operatives and one policeman were killed during raids on al Qaeda hideouts in Gaziantep and Kahramanmaras provinces. Nineteen al Qaeda suspects were arrested. Four police were also wounded. Police raided 18 locations and found 13 guns, ammunition, more than 100 kilograms of chemicals used in making bombs, and propaganda.
The Turkish military said it attacked 60 PKK targets from the air last week. The targets include 15 training camps, 12 logistic support camps, 18 shelters, five command sites, two communication centers, and weapon and food storage areas.

Five civilians, including two students, were killed and 58 wounded in bomb blast targeting a military vehicle. The attack occurred in the city of Diyarbakir in the Kurdish southeast of the country.
Turkish security forces captured 19 al Qaeda operatives planning attacks in the major cities. The military is using Israeli-made Heron UAVs with help of Israeli crews to hunt PKK terrorists, according to a report in a Turkish daily.
