Muqtada al Sadr has called for his Mahdi Army to end fighting with the government. This comes as his forces have taken significant losses over the past six days.

Multinational Forces Iraq has released new images of Iranian-made weapons that have been seized inside Iraq.

The Mahdi Army has had 145 fighters killed, 81 wounded, 98 captured, and 30 surrendered throughout Iraq during the past 36 hours. Nasiriyah and Diwaniyah appear to be in government control and heavy fighting continues in Basrah, Baghdad, Karbala, and Babil provinces.

More than 200 Mahdi Army and Special Groups fighters have been reported killed during clashes in Baghdad, Basrah, Al Kut, Hillah, Nasiriyah, and Diwaniyah. The US military denied the Mahdi Army is in control of checkpoints in Baghdad.

The Iraqi security forces have launched Operation Knights’ Assault against the Mahdi Army and other Iranian-backed Shia militias in Basrah. Muqtada al Sadr’s unilateral cease-fire may fall apart as fighting breaks out in Bagdad and southern Iraq.

Iraqi intelligence director accuses Iran of sabotaging the Awakening movement. Coalition forces detained a regional Special Groups financier and weapons trainer as the raids against the Iranian-backed terror cells continue.
