One of five suspects arrested for a church bombing led authorities to raid several locations in Medan, North Sumatra. The suspects, some of whom were IT experts, had assets of $848,000 that were allegedly used to fund terrorism. Indonesia’s antiterrorism chief said Medan was a financial hub for terrorist activity across the country.

A crowd of 600 Muslims threw plastic bags filled with “urine and dirty water” at 100 Christians who were gathering at a church in Bekasi, a Jakarta suburb. Leaders of the Islamic Defenders Front have been seeking to intimidate Christians in the area.

Detachment 88 said that Frederic C. Jean Salvi, a French citizen, orchestrated the March 21 bombing at the French embassy in Jakarta. Salvi reportedly studied at a madrassa and is linked to Islamist terrorists in Indonesia.

Detachment 88 killed five “Islamic extremist terrorists” who were plotting to bomb a bar, a bank, and a jeweler’s shop in Bali. The five terrorists were gunned down at a hotel; police found weapons but did not discover explosives.
