Authorities seized iron that was being smuggled into the Gaza Strip from Egypt. Four smuggling tunnels between Egypt and Gaza were also destroyed. Egyptian Islamists are planning a demonstration on June 30 to counter those of the opposition. A group of Islamists also accused two businessmen and the Gulf States of plotting chaos in Egypt.

Various Islamist groups including the Muslim Brotherhood partook in anti-Israel rallies in Cairo.
A court sentenced 43 people, including 19 Americans, to jail terms ranging from one to five years for working at “unregistered” NGOs. Secretary of State Kerry condemned the sentences and said it was a “politically-motivated trial.” A youth activist was sentenced to six months in jail for insulting President Morsi.
