Five Sydney men have been sentenced in Australia’s longest and most high profile terror case. The sentences ranged from 23 to 28 years in prison for plotting jihad on Australian soil. The men had been stockpiling chemical explosives and other weapons to carry out the attacks.

A court found five Muslim men guilty of plotting attacks in Australia in an effort to wage “violent jihad.” The five men had stored chemicals and materials to build bombs and possessed “step-by-step instructions on how to make bombs capable of causing large-scale death and destruction.” The location of the planned attack was not disclosed.
