A local Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula commander known as Jafar al Shabwani is said to have been killed in a strike in the AQAP stronghold of Wadi Abida.
In a statement released on May 26, AQAP commander Jalal al Marqishi addresses the “American enemy” and predicts an ignominious US withdrawal from Yemen.
