“I give you allegiance of obedience in good and hard times,” al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula Emir Nasir al Wuhayshi said in a audiotape released today. Wuhayshi also said that the groups’ “project is to institute the Shariah of Allah on Earth.”

AQAP’s chief Mufti, Ibrahim Rubaish, has released a biography honoring ex-Gitmo detainee Fahd Saleh Suleiman al Jutayli. Rubaish, himself a former Gitmo detainee, denies that Jutayli was killed while fighting alongside the Houthis in Yemen.
The US government added Othman al Ghamdi to its list of specially designated global terrorists. Ghamdi is a former detainee at Guantanamo Bay and is now a top military leader for the terror group in Yemen.
The State Department designated former Gitmo detainee Othman al Ghamdi as a global terrorist today. Al Ghamdi is an “operational commander” in al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
