Al Khidr Husayn al Ja’dani, al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula’s emir for Abyan province, is thought to have been killed in the July 30 strike. He replaced an AQAP leader who was involved in the USS Cole attack.

The strike is reported to have taken place at an al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula training camp in the Qatan Valley in the eastern province of Hadramout.

“A known Saudi member” of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and two Yemenis are said to have been killed in the latest strike.

Six al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula fighters are reported to have been killed in a strike on a vehicle traveling in the Al Mahfad area in Abyan province, where AQAP has regrouped.

The attack struck a “convoy” of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula fighters as they traveled in an AQAP-controlled area of Abyan province in Yemen.

Two al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula fighters were killed while driving a motorcycle in the central province of Baydah. The strike is the second reported in Yemen in four days.

Four al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula fighters who were reportedly transporting suicide vests and explosives were killed in a strike in the terrorist haven of Al Mahfad in Abyan province.

Two Yemeni soldiers and another AQAP fighter are said to have been killed in a clash that took place after the strike in Marib.

Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula confirmed that Adnan al Qadhi, a former military officer and AQAP commander who operated in Sana’a, was killed in a US drone strike last November. AQAP accused a father and his young son of planting a “chip” that guided the US strike to its target.

An al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula recruiter is said to have been killed in one of the attacks, both of which took place in an area in central Yemen. The strikes are the first recorded in Yemen since January.
