Senior Al Qaeda and Afghan Taliban leaders meet with Baitullah

Siraj Haqqani, Abu Yahya al Libi, Abdul Haq, and two senior Taliban commanders met with the Pakistani Taliban chief to advise him to redirect his activities toward Afghanistan. The meeting took place the same week the US and Pakistani military launched airstrikes in South Waziristan and wounded a senior terrorist leader.

US Predators strike again in Waziristan

Six “foreigners” and one Taliban operative are killed in today’s second airstrike that reportedly targeted Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan chief Tahir Yuldashev and Mullah Nazir in South Waziristan. Nazir is said to have been wounded in the strike.

The US Treasury Department has designated two senior leaders of the Islamic Jihad Union as Specially Designated Global Terrorists. Najmiddin Kamolitdinovich Jalolov and Suhayl Fatilloevich Buranov were designated terrorists for providing support for al Qaeda operations, conducting terror attacks inside Uzbekistan, and plotting attacks against US forces in Germany.
