The US said Iran is providing support to Syria to suppress nationwide anti-government protests. The US claimed Iran is providing weapons and intelligence-gathering assets to aid security forces in suppressing protests and monitoring the opposition.
The hit list also included the Kabul Attack Network, the Haqqani Network, the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, and other Taliban commanders.
The commander “assists the networks with the acquisition, movement and employment [of] foreign fighters, including Iranians.”
One person was killed and 16 more were wounded in a car bombing in Kirkuk. Security forces detained three wanted men in Kirkuk. A member of parliament said that turning over members of the People’s Mujahideen of Iran to Iran would be unconstitutional.
Iraqi troops clashed with members of the Mujaheddin-e-Khalq terrorist group at Camp Arshaf. Reports on casualties conflict; Iraqi government says three people were killed while the MEK claimed 31 were killed. Security forces detained two wanted men in Al Kut.
The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces said that it would not permit an Iranian-styled theocracy such as the one in Iran. “The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces will not allow extremist factions to control Egypt,” the deputy defense minister said.
Insurgents killed two US soldiers on April 3 in an indirect fire attack and two Iraqi policemen in Mosul. Iran shelled villages in the northern Iraqi province of Sulaimaniyah.
The six members of the Gulf Cooperation Council denounced Iran for its “continuing interference” in the region. The council issued the statement after Saudi Arabia sent troops to back the government of Bahrain during anti-government protests thought to have been incited by Iran.
The government will expel “a group of Iranian diplomats” for their alleged involvement with a spy ring in the Gulf country. Three members of the spy ring were serving in the Kuwaiti military and have been sentenced to death. Iran denies its diplomats are involved in spying.
Many of the sites are located near civilian facilities, including schools and hospitals.
The group was established by the Haqqani Network and Hafiz Gul Bahadar to root out so-called US spies that aid in the US’ Predator campaign in Pakistan.

Turkey forced a second Iranian aircraft suspected of transporting illegal weapons and nuclear materials to Syria to land at Diyarbakir for inspection. Another Iranian plane forced to land last week was not found to contain banned materials.

The strike appears to have targeted a meeting between rival “militant” groups in North Waziristan, which was being hosted by tribal elders loyal to so-called “good Taliban” leader Hafiz Gul Bahadar.
The Turkish Air Force ordered an Iranian plane destined for Syria to land at Diyarbakir airport. The Iranian plane is being inspected for suspected nuclear-related cargo.
The Israeli Defense Forces displayed more than 50 tons of weapons and ammunition, including advanced anti-ship missiles, seized from the Liberian-flagged Victoria cargo ship that was chartered by Iran. The IDF believes the arms were destined for Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Datta Khel is a known safe haven for al Qaeda and allied terror groups. Today’s strike is the fifth in Pakistan’s tribal areas in six days.
