Yemen

A Yemeni military commander said that Shiite Houthi rebels have seized the Presidential Palace in the capital of Sana’a. The Houthis took the palace just one day after inking a cease fire with the government after nine people were killed during clashes in the capital. A car bomb exploded by a bus station in Potiskum in northeast Nigeria, killing four and wounding 35. A doctor’s association in Gombe state has called for an end to a medical workers’ strike, saying that capabilities are overwhelmed by the number of wounded stemming from the Boko Haram insurgency.


Hezbollah commanders killed in suspected Israeli airstrike

Chad joins Cameroon, Nigeria, in fight against Boko Haram

Chad’s parliament voted 150 to 0 earlier this week to deploy an undisclosed number Chadian security forces to assist Cameroonian and Nigerian soldiers battling Boko Haram. The US and Russia have also pledged military assistance to Cameroon this week.
