Unconfirmed reports indicate that 33 Uzbeks and three Germans are among those killed in Pakistani airstrikes in North Waziristan.
The military killed more than 20 people in a series of airstrikes in the Mir Ali and Datta Khel areas of North Waziristan. A suicide bomber killed 22 people in an attack in Mastung in Baluchistan. Four people were killed in separate attacks on polio vaccination teams in Karachi and Mansehra.
Adnan Rasheed, the emir of the Ansar al Aseer Khorasan, appears to have been one of the targets of the airstrikes in the Mir Ali and Datta Khel areas of North Waziristan. Tribesmen claimed the Pakistani Air Force launched indiscriminate attacks on villages.

The US killed three Haqqani Network leaders, including Maulvi Ahmed Jan, a senior financier and aide to Sirajuddin Haqqani, in a drone strike in Hangu. The strike is the first outside of the tribal areas in four years. Pakistan “strongly condemned” the US attack.

Three Haqqani Network commanders are reported to have been killed in a drone strike at a seminary in a settled area of Pakistan’s northwest that appears to have targeted Sirajuddin Haqqani, the operational commander of the Haqqani Network. The strike is the first outside of the tribal areas in four years.
The group has claimed three other attacks against Pakistani troops so far this year. A spokesman said today’s attack was executed to avenge Hakeemullah Mehsud, who was killed in a US drone strike.
