Mauritanian authorities are hunting for three dangerous terrorist suspects linked to captured terrorist leader Maarouf Ould Haiba. Two other suspects including Algerian terrorist Sidi Ould Sidna, are also being hunted down after a brazen courtroom escape last Monday. On Saturday, a third escapee, Abou Mouadh, died from wounds sustained during a shootout following the breakout.

Mauritania

Mauritanian police captured al Qaeda-linked terrorist Maarouf Ould Hadib, a key suspect in the Christmas Eve massacre of four French nationals in the village of Aleg. Hadib was dressed in women’s clothing when the police discovered him hiding in a taxi trying to avoid capture. Wanted fugitive Sidi Ould Sidina remains at large.

Mauritania

Mauritanian police stormed an al Qaeda safe house in the capital Nouakchott searching for Sidi Ould Sidina, an Algerian terrorist who escaped from a court hearing last Wednesday. Two police officers were killed during the assault. Sidina managed to escape for a second time, but police discovered and confiscated his fully operational explosives lab.
