The Islamic State clashed with Kurdish YPG forces in Hasakah, and kidnapped and killed a YPG commander; fought regime forces in eastern Hama; battled the Islamic Front and was targeted by regime airstrikes in Aleppo; killed a female dentist, issued rules for Al Mayadin city, and clashed with and was bombarded by regime forces in Deir Izzour; and was targeted by regime airstrikes and raids in Raqqah. The “unprecedented” regime aerial onslaught on the IS in Raqqah killed 31 militants yesterday. The Al Nusrah Front and the Islamic Front battled regime forces in Hama, where they shot down a regime plane; and in Aleppo, where they were joined by the Ansar al Din Front and rebels. The Islamic Front also clashed with regime forces in Deraa; Homs; Idlib, where a Jund al Aqsa weapons factory exploded; Latakia; and Reef Dimashq, where they were joined by rebels. Regime forces and rebels in the Damascus districts of Al Esali and Al Qadam worked on reconciliation. Japanese authorities are investigating reports that the IS has captured one of its citizens.
