The Islamic State clashed with regime forces in Hasakah, where it used NDF fighters and three suicide bombers to storm a Ba’ath headquarters in Hasakah city, killing at least 14 soldiers; arrested people in western Deir Izzour; battled the Islamic Front and Jabhat al-Akrad in Ikhtren, and fought the Kurdish YPG near Jarabalus in Aleppo; and took over the chemistry battalion in the 17th division after clashes and two car bomb attacks against regime forces in Raqqah, and also beheaded six soldiers and displayed their heads in Raqqah city. A general was killed in the fighting, and the regime conducted 14 airstrikes in Raqqah. Today’s IS attacks in Hasakah, Aleppo, and Raqqah are reportedly the first time the group has carried out such coordinated attacks on regime forces. The Al Nusrah Front and the Islamic Front clashed with regime forces in Reef Dimashq, Damascus, and Aleppo. The Islamic Front also battled regime forces in Hama, Homs, and Deraa.
