In Raqqah, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Sham conducted raids and arrests. In Aleppo, the Al Nusrah Front, the Islamic Front, and the Abu A’mara battalion attacked a large regime barracks by first blowing up tunnels under it, and were joined by the al Mujahideen army and rebels in other areas; the ISIS clashed with Kurdish YPG forces and bombarded areas near Kobani city. In Idlib, regime forces ambushed Islamic forces near M’aret al-Nu’man city, killing 28 non-Syrian fighters. In Reef Dimashq, regime forces clashed with Al Nusrah, Islamic forces, and rebel fighters. A jihadist media outlet issued a posthumous statement from the slain leader of the Abdullah Azzam Brigades warning of the danger to the jihadist cause posed by ISIS’ expansion into Syria. The ISIS spokesman issued a statement criticizing al Qaeda’s general command for allegedly deviating from the path of Osama bin Laden.
