Palestinian Territories

Hamas fighters recently wanted to fire rockets at Israel, but were recalled by the group’s political leadership. Hamas’ Interior Ministry has redeployed forces to prevent rocket attacks on Israel. Palestinian terrorists in Gaza fired at least one rocket toward southern Israel.






Somalia

The Somali government has fired 700 soldiers of various ranks for incompetence. In Mogadishu, Shabaab has claimed responsibility for two consecutive nights of shelling in various government and AMISOM-controlled areas. Although Kenya will decrease its troop presence in Kismayo, the KDF has denied allegations that Kenyan forces are preparing to pull out of Somalia completely.


Tunisia

Seven Islamist militants and a policeman were killed during a clash when security forces tried to arrest the militants at a residence in Raoued; one militant was arrested and weapons, explosives, and suicide belts were found. Police had tried first to negotiate.


Nigeria

Muhammad Nazeef, along with other suspected Boko Haram members Salami Abdullahi and Umar Musa have pled not guilty to eight charges of terrorism-related offenses. The Department of State Security Service will present its prosecution case on March 18.
