Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh denied that Hamas was meddling in the affairs of any Arab states, in particular Egypt and Syria. In addition, Haniyeh called on Palestinians to wage a “popular uprising” in the West Bank. Two years after completing an exchange deal with Israel for Gilad Shalit, Hamas warned that it is prepared to abduct more Israelis.
