Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula fighters are suspected of gunning down a man thought to be a homosexual in Huta in Lahj province. Twenty people were wounded yesterday in a pair of bombings in the capital of Sana’a.
Algeria
Security forces killed five al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb fighters during a gun battle in Dellys in Boumerdes province. Officials estimate that 30 Algerians are fighting alongside the Al Nusrah Front and other jihadist groups in Syria.

Israeli forces clashed with Palestinians in the Jerusalem area as Hamas officials repeated calls for the start of another Intifada. At least 12 Palestinians were arrested for their roles in the protests. Defense Minister Ya’alon reportedly said that Bashar al Assad should be removed as the head of Syria.
Egypt
Unidentified gunmen shot and killed a policeman in the Sinai, while Muslim Brotherhood supporters clashed with residents of Alexandria. Three people were arrested in connection with recent attacks on security forces in the Sinai. Authorities arrested four more people linked to the August killing of a number of policemen in Kerdasa.
