Prime Minister Jebali resigned after his proposal for a nonpartisan government was rejected by his Islamist Ennahda party. Tunisian Salafists destroyed a Sufi shrine in El Kef, and unknown attackers ransacked a shrine in Dahmani. Some 1,800 bars of gold worth almost 72 million euros have been smuggled out of Tunisia via France and moved on to Dubai or Istanbul since 2011.
