Jihadists suspected in deaths of 3 Egyptian policemen
Three Egyptian policemen were shot and killed in the city of el-Arish in the North Sinai governorate. Before fleeing the scene, the attackers reportedly “raised a black flag associated with jihadis and shouted ‘God is great.'”

Rebels launched an assault on the strategic airbase of Taftanaz in northern Syria in an attempt to disrupt strikes by government aircraft and helicopters on rebel-held areas. The Al Nusrah Front, an al Qaeda-associated group, participated in the attack.
