Assassins opened fire on Naji Hamad, the organizer of a Sept. 21 anti-militia demonstration in Benghazi, killing his brother-in-law but missing Hamad. This year 18 security force members have been killed in Benghazi; Islamist militants are suspected. Although the Ansar al Sharia militia was reportedly disbanded after the Sept. 11 attack on the US Consulate, its members have not been disarmed.
