The Detachment 88 antiterrorism force killed two Abu Sayyaf-linked militants during a shootout in Solo on Java and arrested another at a separate location. The militants had returned to Indonesia after two years of paramilitary training in the Philippines. One member of the elite police squad was killed in the shootout.
