The Economic Community of West African States discussed what to do with a shipment of arms destined for Mali that was intercepted a month ago in Conkary. The shipment had been ordered by Mali’s former president, who was ousted by a coup in March. West African nations fear the arms will fall into the wrong hands. The Malian military junta has limited ECOWAS involvement in Mali.
