In Alabama, Ulugbek Kodirov, an Uzbek caught planning to assassinate President Obama last July, pled guilty to charges against him. He had expressed support for Islamic extremists and obtained a machine gun and grenades for the plot. In New York, Mohammed Wali Zazi, father of would-be NYC subway bomber Najibullah Zazi, was imprisoned for obstruction of justice. The father told a relative to destroy any chemicals that might be part of the investigation and said the FBI was looking for three other persons besides Mohammed himself.
