The State Department issued a worldwide travel alert after the Justice Department release details on an Iranian terror plot. “This Iranian-backed plan to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador may indicate a more aggressive focus by the Iranian Government on terrorist activity against diplomats from certain countries, to include possible attacks in the United States.”

The US Treasury Department designated five Iranians who were allegedly involved in a plot to kill Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the US. One of the five planned a deadly assault on American soldiers in Karbala, Iraq in 2007.
France
A magistrate will decide whether the case of nuclear physicist Adlene Hicheur, who has spent two years in prison since his arrest for links with al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, will go to a prosecutor. Hicheur reportedly corresponded with an AQIM member and considered targeting French businesses and a French Army brigade.
