An Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula suicide bomber killed a policeman in an attack on a police vehicle in the Al Tawahi district in Aden. The government claimed two policemen were injured in the attack.

Al Qaeda leader Ayman al Zawahiri called on Algerians to rise up against their government just as the Libyans did against President Qaddafi. Zawahiri also criticized Egypt’s military for failing to aid the Libyans and Tunisians.
The State Department issued a worldwide travel alert after the Justice Department release details on an Iranian terror plot. “This Iranian-backed plan to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador may indicate a more aggressive focus by the Iranian Government on terrorist activity against diplomats from certain countries, to include possible attacks in the United States.”
