Prosecutors said Nasserdine Menni was telephoned by Stockholm suicide bomber Taimour Abdulwahab the day of the bombing. Menni is accused of helping finance the 2010 attack. Court documents also indicate Abdulwahab called someone in Iraq the day of the bombing, and that he tried to detonate his car before blowing himself up.

Ayman al Zawahiri, the emir of al Qaeda, released a videotape that commemorated his predecessor, Osama bin Laden. “People don’t know that this man was tender, gentle, kind, with refined feelings, even when life was hard,” Zawahiri said.


Pakistan

US Predators killed 18 Taliban and “foreign fighters” in an airstrike in North Waziristan. Security forces killed 16 Taliban fighters during fighting yesterday in Arakzai. Five “terrorists” and two policemen were killed during a clash in Karachi.
