It sometimes seems that the White House has ceded management of the GWOT to David Petraeus and his crew at Langley.
What are the possibilities of having the UAVs going after the pirates in Somalia? A rough estimate puts the base at 1,600 km from the Indian Ocean. At a leisurely 300 km/h, an MQ-9 could be over the Indian Ocean within six hours which gives the UAV 18 hours of over ocean time.
Quite frankly, with 100 Green Berets “In Country” providing help against the LRA, I don’t think the LRA is long for this world:)
