The Yemeni government claimed it has retaken control of Zinjibar, the capital of Abyan province, and ejected al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula from other towns in the area. The military has also broken the three-month-long siege of the 25th Mechanized Brigade just outside of Zinjibar.
