The Taliban killed a police chief and eight officers in Ghazni, and two ISAF soldiers in the south. Afghan troops retook control of the Waygal district in Nuristan; 18 Taliban fighters were killed. Security forces killed and captured several Taliban commanders and fighters in Helmand, Zabul, Paktia, Nangarhar, Balk, and Baghlan.
