The Pakistani military launched an operation against the Taliban in Kurram. The Taliban are reported to have launched an attack into Bajaur from Kunar in Afghanistan; one policeman was killed.
Security forces killed and captured several Taliban leaders and fighters in Kandahar, Helmand, Uruzgan, Zabul, Khost, Paktika, Nangarhar, Balkh, and Kunduz. The Taliban killed an ISAF soldier in the east. ISAF is searching for a missing British soldier in Helmand.
