Six Tajik soldiers were killed in a mine attack during military operations against Islamist forces in the Rasht Valley. The Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan claimed credit for the attack. The attack took place in the same region where 28 soldiers were said to have been killed in a helicopter crash on Oct. 6.
