ISAF and Afghan forces killed more than 90 Taliban fighters during long-term operations in Kabul and Laghman, and recently detained several Taliban fighters in Kunduz, Khost, Paktia, and Paktika. The Taliban killed three US soldiers in attacks in the south and east. President Karzai said the US announcement of a beginning of a withdrawal date has “morale value” fo rthe Taliban.
